Slater this was my primary reason for modifying my Omni V and installing the
Omni V.9 processor.

     http://www3.telus.net/ve7tk/omni_V9.pdf

The code for the CPU was written by Carl N4PY and the serial port now
emulates an Icom 761. I modified my rig more that 4.5 years ago and
wouldn't go back. I'm currently running Logger32 and controlling the rig
with both that software or some N4PY software. A description of my station
is on my site and if you want more info I'd suggest you contact Carl
directly.

To: ten-tec reflector <tentec@contesting.com>

I "cracked" the mystery of how the USB/Serial cable will drive the OMNI
V running MixW on a Mac. The secret lies in the Virtual PC program on
which I run MixW. I had to configure the ports in the basic Virtual PC
program, then just match them in MixW. Works great.

I should have figured this out before.

Thanks for the feedback on my enquiry.

Still interested in why Ten-Tec put the RS 232 port on the OMNI V.
