Reading some the text on the reflector takes me back to my early days in ham
radio when we would gather on 10 meters or 75 and talk about all the
mistakes that Hallicrafters, National, Hammarlaud, Collins etc had made in
their new radios.
We took it upon ourselves to out guess the engineering staff to "customize"
our radios.
Well, they are all gone.
What's new and enlightening to me is the wealth of " non-appliance"
operators we seem to have collectively here.
I for one have had to program Motorola chip sets as well as others.
My first impression was that the TenTec design would be a programmers dream.
We could write modules to links within the program for new as well as
enhanced functions.
The module could be standard with an link to a Ten Tec interpreter, all
transparent to the users/programmer. This would allow TT to control the
software code.
Please, it's been a while since I played with this stuff, but wouldn't this
be a way to give the end user a place to play with their toy ????????
