My Orion S/N 08C10404 with firmware 1.372 has an internal ATU which I have disabled. On TUNE, it delivers just below 20w (the specified level) if the POWER is set to 20 or higher watts. (If POWER is then pressed, output will jump if above 20w) However, if the POWER is set to anything less than 20 watts, pressing the TUNE then delivers that reduced output. I have found this very useful when checking the tuning of a new linear amp, or new ATU settings, etc. at a safe low level when the SWR is unknown. John G3PPB |
