I've been using the same roller inductor 2KW tuner for at least a decade. I
have replaced the string twice.

There has never been an antenna I couldn't tune. And I used to experiment
with all kinds of wire antennas from Log-Periodic Wire arrays on 40m retuned
to 15m fed with twin balanced line. Delta Loop Arrays on 40. Off center
fed random wires. With a capacitor screwed to the terminal on the back,
160m marconi converted from a 75m doublet shorted at feedpoint and twin lead
connected into a single wire at the tuner. Anything and everything.

The only thing I wouldn't mind doing to make it better is to get rid of the
rubber band string and pointer on the roller inductor, and replace it with a
turns counter that would fit right.

Running a KW to any antenna I ever tried thru that tuner without a hiccup.
model number 229. I recommend the full legal limit TT tuners.

My 229...It's not for sale. =9^D

PEACE
Scott / W4PJ
