I am looking at building a step attenuator similar to the Ten-Tec model 290
for my Argo V and I'd appreciate some info.

1) Is the 290 strictly a step attenuator OR does it also have a transmitted
RF sensor circuit to switch the attenuator out during receive?

2) What are the "Six calibrated steps" of attenuation?

3) Has anyone reverse engineered the 290 and developed a schematic they'd be
willing to share?

Thanks.

(Note: Yes I am aware that the 290 is designed for use with the Argonaut
series of 5 watt transmitters and the Argo V is a 20 watt rig!)
