Spoke yesterday with Scott over at the Ten Tec booth about my idea (see below). 
 FWIW, he indicated that it could be done -- but that the price of the rig 
would not make it competitive with similar radios that would include V/UHF 
features. 

Well, it was a thought... if I had the money, I'd buy one...
