Incidentally, I got the ICE BCB HP filter because of my PROII, not the
Orion, which is much better than the Icom.
In the daytime, the second harmonic a 50 KW station on 1580 mixes with the
fundamental of a 5 KW station on 1310 generating a nice strong signal on
1850 in the Icom. The ICE filter reduces it from S9+40 on the Icom, I
think, to about an S9, but I'm mentioning those numbers from memory, so
please don't do the math and compare it to the published spec.
Maybe I never listened on 1850 during the day with my now-gone FT-1000MP or
the successor radio, the MARK-V, but I don't remember hearing it.
