Steve I have/had a 255 power supply that came with my Omni C. It had a hum
sometimes. I found that the control board that stands vertical was sometimes
the problem. It must be grounded to the chasis very well. You might also
check if the transformer is fastened tight.
After the control board went up in smoke I gave up on it and now use Astron
SS30M supplies for all of my radios.
