I was at Ten-Tec once and they showed me where they did that "potting." 
Dunno which ones they potted, though.

Hi Steve,

What I would do being one who now and then winds xformers.  Dip it in
electrical varnish, pull vacuum on it and then bake it.  Probably a lot of
work if your not set up for it.  Probably some lazy ways of getting around
it but that would be the proper way.  Too bad xformer mfgrs do not do that
in the first place.
