On commenting to Byron's writings, that is absolutely correct.
Look at the fundamental frequencies of the human voice, both male and
female, plus the overtones generated for the speaking voice. We don't need
to consider the musical range. To that end extreme or wide frequency
response is not what is needed. Try for low distortion for the transmitted
audio, improved S/N in the audio circuits and balanced modulator and very
smooth to no phase shift throughout the passband, what ever it is. That
will make for good quality audio. Frequency response is only one small part
of the equation.
