Hi Alan,

I've use an external DSP filter with my Scout, and it does come in handy as
you've described. I have an MFJ-784B, and I use it like an old
Q-multiplier. It works great for any rig that doesn't have adequate IF
filtering, and sometimes I'll use it instead of additional IF filtering if
I'm not fighting a strong adjacent signal that will overload the IF and pump
the AGC. If you want something inside the Scout, I'd recommend something
adjustable, which means you have to bring out some leads or drill a hole.
Maybe the Elecraft DSP filter would work. If you can accept an external
filter, there are more choices.

Hope this helps.
