Folks,
I use a Scout mobile at half power with very good results. Still have
some noise though no matter what filtering I use. The Explorer is fairly
quiet though, but not perfectly quiet.
My question: Does anyone have any suggestions for a stand alone power
source for mobile folks running about 25 watts looking for a noise free
environment?
Thanks, Jim, K4CFA

I have one of my mobiles ( in the house ) on a deep cycle battery and a
small solar panel. this would work well in the car as the solar panel charges
when ever the sun is up and keeps the battery topped of for ever. use one of
those panels the ship on Volkswagens or similar, a 12 volt ( 17 volts no load)
at 150 milliamps will do fine with no controller into a battery over 33 AH.
bigger is better. mount securely like in a battery box in the trunk screwed
to the floor, in case of accident.
