Russ,
Several times I have almost bought a Scout but
ended up buying an Argosy instead. An older TenTec rig
with easy opperation and no modules to lose. The
Argosy has a strong alumnium case and very easy to
repair. One thing, I understand there are no more RF
output transistors for the Argosy radios. The Scout is
smaller than the Argosy, but after you stack the
modules next to the scout, they may be about the same
size.
