I think the size is 0.050. I agree, the best fix is the rebuild kit. Shortcuts will be short-lived. You may have worn bearings inside and usually the old grease has dried out.

A very small hex wrench. Don't know exactly what size but it is small.

There are various opinions about un-sticking stuck PTO shafts. In mine, the alcohol MAY work but I would not bank on it working very long. I have tried a number of different ways of freeing PTO shafts over the years and in my experience, the best results have been to do the Ten Tec recommended rebuild.

Got my C21 about an hour ago, its stuck on the low end of the dial, about 14017 on 20m. It recieves, and it transmits.

How the heck do you get the main tuning knob off? I've tried small screw drivers in case it uses set-screws. I've tried allen wrench and don't seek to hit the center. I think if I can get the knob off I can dribble some alcohol down the PTO shaft it will free. It will move a tiny bit either way.
