Most amps have two jacks on the back besides RF input and output: a relay
jack to control B+ voltage and T/R switching, that is normally controlled from
the exciter (transceiver), and an ALC output jack to control the drive level
when connected to the ALC input jack of a compatible exciter.

Since the Argo V was not designed to be used with an amp, it has no provision
for switching (keying) the amp or for ALC input. So, any amp used with it
would have to have an RF sensing device (probably external) to control its
relays. It would not be practical to incorporate an ALC loop into the Argo V
without extensive mods, so you'll have to insure that 20 W of drive will not
overdrive your amp.

Or, if you insist on using an amp, think about trading in the Argo V for a
radio that was designed to do that job.

Good luck,
