Ken,

I notice something similar on my Pegasus with reduced RF gain.

My guess is it's some artifact of the DSP AGC implementing higher gain .
With no signal on my Pegasus (i.e. dummy load), numerous birdies are
noticeable. With real noise and signals, most of these end up below the
noise floor (though a few still remain).
