Curt,
I think that they were easier on us 'airdales' because
they were cranking up the squadron and needed a bunch
of us to start flying. I used to sit watch with the
'blackshoe' RM's down at the receiving station which
was NAX5, Barbers Point, Hawaii and that is where I
got my speed up over 30wpm by just sitting there
copying code for 4-6 hours a day on my off time. I
should have kept it up but that's life. I have been
trying but at 66 it is harder than I remember.
