I've remember issues some users have had with the audio path (speaker vs.
headphone), and if DSP is on, it could be anything.  What do you hear if all
DSP options (NB, NR, Notch, AN) are turned off?  Still there?  Is it there
both in the speaker and the headphones, or only one of them?  Might give
another place to start.

         Ken, there is little hardware difference
in the analog signal path for an Orion + Inrad 762
versus Orion II + TT 2001.  The differences you
are hearing are more likely due to firmware.  What
firmware versions are in each radio?
