Dale,
You should borrow a CI-V manual from someone. I don't know if ICOM
has it online or not. I have one here if you can't find one - I could mail
it to you for your use.

Subject: [TenTec] Reading Omni VI Frequency with Visual Basic

Some time ago, I wrote a VB4/5 program to take care of my general logging.
I tried to incorporate the ability to have the software automatically read
the band/frequency and mode data from the Omni VI using mscomm control.
But, I could never get it to work.

After a few months of trying to get the code to do the job I wanted it to, I
gave up. But, I never forgot and it nags at me every time I use my logging
program.

If anyone has done something similar and has had success and would be kind
enough to share their code with me, that would be great. I promise to not
share it with anyone else.

Thanks and 73,

Dale, kg5u
