Dave this tells you which of the 4 band stacking registers per band you have
in the VFO.  For example if your display is at 14.024 with an "A" and you
press the 20 meter band but it will change frequency and display "B".  It
will change through all 4 each time you press the 20 meter band button "B",
"C", "D" and return to "A" again.

My display shows a dark capital letter A above the digit following the main
frequency decimal point. This letter is smaller than the  vfo "A" displayed
to the left of the frequency display.

Any idea what function this symbol relates to?
