I agree with Barry. Equalizers do more than widen the bandwidth.
Having said that, I do not use one on my Orion II, nor did I ever use one on
my Omni VI+. With the stock TT 705 microphone on both rigs I have gotten
countless unsolicited comments regarding the high audio quality. (And it's
kind of fun to respond to the "What kind of microphone are you using?"
question
with "The stock Ten Tec mic.") (Which always has had me wondering if some
people don't maybe harm their audio by trying to do too much over the stock
design with other mics and equalizers...)

adjust the voice response over the 2.4Khz bandwidth. There are a heck
of a lot of microphones in use that could use such equalization to
