I don't think there's really a need to do an end-to-end alignment. 
Experience with my Paragon, purchased new in 1991, is that the only 
things that goes out of alignment are the crystal oscillators, due to 
crystal aging and oxidation of the trimmer caps. The manual tells how to 
align the BFO frequencies. It doesn't give specific instructions on the 
PBT oscillator, but its easy to figure this out from the circuit 
description. I would not attempt to align passband filters, because I 
don't have a sweep generator.
