Hi Guys,

I'm troubleshooting a "stuttering" keying problem on one of my 425s.
I suspect a relay problem -- K3, K4, or K6. Vacuum relay is fairly
new Gigavac, replaced last summer, and it's been through several
contests. I have three of these amps, so I traded the 81218 board
(that has K6 on it) from one amp to another. Didn't fix it. Then I
changed K3. Didn't fix it.

While pulling the 81219 board to change K3, the coax jumper from it
to the Input LPF board came loose from the Input LPF board. My
question is about that jumper, which appears to be one of those micro
plug and socket connections, but which I don't think I've been able
to seat reliably. Am I right that it is a plug and socket? The tip of
the "plug" is bare center conductor of the mini-coax (RG174 or
equiv), no tip on it. Is there a trick to latching it? Has the tip
come off and I've lost it?

Or does the board need to be pullled and the connection soldered?
This board could be rather tricky to pull and replace -- it's got the
input bandswitch on it, and at least two of the screws look real
tough to get in and out.

73,

Jim K9YC
