Marinus,
I have been using the 40 XK here in CX land for the past two years. I am inland, probably 10km from the Rio Plate. I have it mounted in an umbrella stand which puts the bottom "T" about 4 feet off the ground. I have another XK which I use for 30m. Both exhibit very low angle of radiation. Like you in ZL land, I am pretty far from the major ham populations of US and EU but have no problem working DX. I recently moved into a new qth and plan on phasing 2 XKs together using a Comtek phasing unit. Setting up the XK is pretty easy, with the loading coils and match hair pin, adjust the coils for resonance then spread or squeeze the matching coil for lowest swr. I operate from 7.00 to 7.09 under 2:1 SWR and my O II/Acom1000 are happy with this. If you want more info or have questions, reply direct.
