I heard a while back there was an upcoming High -Resolution sweep
coming...I guess this is for the 566. There must be "technical
problems" with making it work on the 565.
This is good news you are working with Larry to use the LP-PAN.
The June QST article on SDR receivers shows several versions of
software that offer various ways to view: spectrum, waterfall,
etc. The Flex software picture also looks good in the last NCJ.
Thanks for any updates to the process. I think this may be a good
solution to "see" what is happening on the band. I would like to
use a 15 or 17" LCD so I can "SEE."
In this graphical computer environment and very poor band
conditions we find ourselves in these days, "seeing" helps make
QSOs.

the Orion (565) I am assembling the pieces (buffer amp and
external sound card) to extract the 9 MHz IF from the Orion and
use the LP-PAN. I have also been working with Larry (N8LP) to
modify the basic LP-PAN for the Orion's 9 MHz IF. His
simulation suggests the changes should be minimal (some fixed
capacitors and of course a different crystal).
He's pretty busy right now with Dayton orders for his equipment
so I'm not sure when my special order will be filled. I'll
keep the reflector posted.

I like the performance of the Orion 2 in DX, and contesting.
But...having seen the display on the new Yaesu rigs, I am
wishing for increased
resolution.
The article in June's QST about displays for SDRs got me to
thinking.
Has anyone used something like the Telepost display adapter
(for the K3) using
the Orion's IF output to have a high resolution display?
