Yes, you lose AM and FM with the CW readers.? However, that's using only the
old, smaller chip.

With the new, larger chip, you just switch back and forth between the CW
personality and the full CW, AM, FM (old) personality.

I e-mailed service at Ten-Tec and they sent me a chip and instructions by mail
to fix the problem. It involved taking the bottom off the Jupiter, putting in
the chip they sent, doing a reset by turning on the rig while holding down the
mic button. Then I had to take out the chip they sent me, put the old one back
in and then run the version upgrade download.

The new CW features are fairly nice. The keyboard keyer works fine. The CW
reader works like most CW readers. You need a strong signal and a good fist on
the other end. The little CW tuner line below the regular S-meter line helps
tune it in correctly.

However, I noticed that with the new firmware version, I no longer had AM or
FM.
All things considered, I decided I like having AM and FM capability better than
a CW keyboard and readers. So I went back to the earlier firmware version.?

I'm not sure if you're supposed to lose AM and FM with the new version. If so,
it's not worth it for me.
