Can't remember the exact display freq but it almost sounds like 9000 is the
frequency displayed when there's no VFO signal. This happens when you
reverse the remote VFO in/out wires or when the remove VFO is bad, and
lately it's been happening to my 561 (Corsair II) and a gentle tap on the
front panel restores the correct frequency. Indicative of a flaky
connection between boards...
Could be a simple connection problem -- a potential easy fix, as silly as it
sounds, is to open it up and reseat the appropriate connectors. Or all of
them.
Worth a try.
