[TenTec] Triton IV gold colored face?

My Triton IV has what looks like a goldish yellow finish on the face and bottom 
cover ... no its not tar or a smokers rig, this is actually the finish on this 
rig s/n 01140.
 
It could be that the typical silver/metal look on this radio has slowly stained 
with light, age etc, but also the bottom cover?
 
Any thoughts on this appreciated.
