Some switchers ARE noisy. Some are NOISY! MFJ switchers made
specifically for radio use tend to be quiet. Its worth scouring the QST
reviews of switchers to see the differences.

There are reports that the switcher inside the Yaesu FT-736 adds noise,
I'm pretty sure it adds noise on the power line to make X-10 power line
remotes work poorly and to sometimes trigger the X-10 receivers.
