Curt, What amazes me is how well the Noise Blanker is working on the Triton
Digital. Line noise is a big issue at times here. The blanker is better than
the one on my 7700, and as I mentioned does not distort the received signal.
Maybe someone can tell me why this is so?

The Triton is very sensitive and works well on cw where I spend most of my
time. Of course like many rigs from the era, it is not exactly on frequency,
does not have a notch, and many features that come with DSP are not there.

But, it sure is a lot of fun to use, and if i run into line noise on a band I
will switch on the Triton.

Ditto here Toby.

I have a 509, 540 and 544 at weekend place, surely hesitate to compare with
my Omni VII at the home QTH, but the old rigs get the job done as well as
this op is capable of. Yesterday, made CT7/DL2MEK from Texas with 2W from
the 509 into a wire antenna. Usually use the 544 for 40M SSB nets here and
the Omni VII for same at the home QTH. Probably don't need all the features
the Omni VII provides, but it's sure fun to use.
