TenTec 585 Paragon HF Transceiver For Sale:

The Paragon is a top of the line transceiver that includes a
general coverage receiver. It covers 160-10 meters, including
WARC bands, with 100 watts output. The receiver is fantastic.
It has dual VFOs and many memories built in, along with a
speech processor. Basically, it has about every feature that
a ham could want in an HF rig.

This particular unit works 100% as best I can tell. Since the
rig does so many things, I am sure that there is something I
didn't test, but I don't know what it is (or I would have
tested it!). It has had all updates completed by TenTec.

Cosmetically, it is in extremely nice shape. The front panel
is extremely good. Most all of the lettering is clean and
crisp. There are a couple of very minor scratches on the heat
sink that certainly will not be noticeable in operation.

Large manual and power cord included for $650.

TenTec Model 280 power supply, 20 amps at 13 V DC:

This supply is quite heavy duty electrically.
It has 2 pass transistors, instead of the one that
some have. It also has an ammeter on it.

This one works fine, and looks OK as well.
A previous owner removed the molded in TenTec power
cable on the back and added very heavy binding posts,
so that it can be used with many different rigs and
not just TenTec. It also has a couple RCA jacks for
lower power use.

With paper work for $100.

"Switcher / 25" 25 amp switching power supply:
This is a 25 amp switching power supply in a case that
matches the early Omni series case, with the metal bezel
around it. It is in a case that is the same size as a 243
remote VFO. It has an ammeter on the front, along with
Switch, TenTec logo, and output bulb. The front panel
basically looks like a 280 power supply with a metal bezel,
but says "Switcher/25" on it. It is very quiet, and well
shielded, and does not produce any electrical noise that
I could find. $150

CW Items:

Cable for straight key
About 3 feet long, with a mono 1/4 inch phone plug on it,
as is used with a straight key. $5
As above, but 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) plug. $5

Cable for paddles
About 3 feet long, and with a 1/4 inch stereo connector
on the end, like used by most rigs. $8
As above, but 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) plug $8

Lightning Protectors:

"Blitz Bug" Lighting protectors
These are not as sophisticated as the Polyphaser below,
but still protect against lightning. Two versions are
available. One has an SO-239 connector on each end.
The other has a PL-259 on one end and an SO-239 on
the other end. Take your choice for $8 each.

Polyphaser IS-VU50HN-MA Lightning Protector

Polyphaser is well know for extremely good lightning
protection equipment. This coaxial antenna protector
is designed to be inserted in the coaxial cable at the
bottom of a tower.
This unit has two SO-239 connectors, and is rated to take
750 Watts from 50 to 300 MHz and from 380 to 550 MHz.

This particular unit includes the spec sheet, and appears
that it might not have been used. It is not oxidized,
or corroded.

These sell for about $75 new. Buy this one for $55.

SWR Bridges / Field Strength Meters:

Midland 23-126 SWR Bridge / Field Strength Meter
This is an HF SWR Bridge, but it can be used up thru 2 meters,
with slightly reduced accuracy. It is also a field strength
meter. SO-239 connectors.
This one works fine, and looks extremely nice. I do not see
any scratches on it; it may not have ever been used. In its
original box with original instructions and small telescoping
antenna. $35

ThordTest SWFS-2 SWR Bridge / Field Strength Meter
Appears to be the same as the Midland above, but the outer
case is beige instead of black.
In original box, with original instruction sheet, and antenna.
$30

Heath HM-2102 VHF wattmeter, covering 50 to 160 MHz.

Similar to the HM-102, but for VHF frequencies, with 250 and
25 watt scales. It can also be used to check SWR, and has a
remote sensor that can either be left inside the meter, or
separated from the actual meter.
SO-239 connectors in and out.

This particular meter works great. It looks good, but has a
small defect on the left side of the meter that does not
effect operation.

Paper work included for $40.

Prices do not include shipping from Florida.

Thanks.

Ken, W8EK
