Art,

Since I have had one, there hasn't been tough enough band conditions.
Unfortunately, by the time CQWW CW comes, mine will be packed in a shipping
carton for transportation to Europe.
I'm curious how you use the notch filter? Do you just set it for something
like 1000 Hz, or what.

The nice thing I noticed is, with DSP, you can crank the bandwidth all the
way down and you don't get any filter ringing and you don't have loss of
signal strength. So I don't understand the hesitation to drop down to 250
Hz.

Also, you don't have to go all the way in one step.
You can go to 400, 350, 300 Hz, etc.

I can only support what Bob said earlier.
On SSB, the autonotch is really effective.

OK, I was surprised to see the Eagle does not have a manual notch for CW.

However...have any of you who have taken the plunge found it necessary? In
contests with an IC-765, the manual notch is at times helpful in narrowing
the 500hz passband, without going to 250hz.

However...the Eagle can have the 300hz filter and DSP.

So...have any of you who have one, operated it on a crowded band (CW) and
thought, "Hmmm, I'd copy better with a notch filter?"

Thanks for your feedback!
