In terms of functionality, there is no specific reason to use a Ten-Tec
supply, so long as the chosen supply has the right voltage & current
capacity, and (of course) there is an appropriate Airpax or equivalent
magnetic circuit breaker in-line.
In terms of aesthetics, though... well, let me put it this way: My Astron's
are workhorses, but they don't look as good next to the Omni VI+ as the
Ten-Tec supply does!
And one of these days, I'm going to get my hands on a new front plate for my
Corsair's PS (has some minor cosmetic damage -- a dent and the T-T logo is
missing from the speaker grill), although I will get the piece to match my
Corsair II! Of course, that would then make the remote VFO the odd man out,
aesthetically speaking...
