Trouble with that "understood" 3 dB error is that ARRL and other
publishers don't understand and all their publications show the 3 dB
inflated gains from EZNEC. HQ can be most stubborn about correcting
technical errors too, try to get them to change. I have been trying to
get them to show the correct formula for low impedance parallel lines
for about 43 years. Hasn't had an effect yet.
It was an easy fix in MININEC on the Apple II+, it would take
recompiling the executables for NEC2 these days and all the programs
that have been built on to make a user friendly I/O section.
