The Corsair speaker line uses small shielded cable.  For audio, you 
can't beat the the old tried and true inline male and female "RCA phono" 
plugs.  Heathkit used them for many years, even for RF.  (They are not 
as rugged as a BNC, but actually pretty good for RF).
