Greetings.

My Model 963 switching power supply causes me to ask...

1) Is it expected that the power-on pilot light will "flicker" orange,
or should it stay a constant brightness ? Mine has taken to
flickering and after awhile one cannot remember if it always
        did that...

2) My 963 power supply causes a buzzing hash around 850 MHz -
more noticeable on AM than on LSB or USB. Not sure if it
does not at other frequencies yet... I have been cruising the
ham bands, and it seems to be just a 850 AM, but not sure
        especially about harmonics.

Background -
I rebuilt my shack these past few weeks, and had not noticed these
issues before. I use a different, linear type, Astron RS-35M for the
transceiver and have another one of those on reserve if this Model 963
is going bad. I use the 963 to power up some accessories, a police
scanner, and a mobile 2 M rig separate from the HF gear.

Any reason to worry ?
Any thing I can try to ameliorate this situation?

Any help is appreciated !!

------------------
Happy Trails.
