Guys, go find yourself a copy shop with a canon B/W copier with the 
scanner option. Have them trim off the binding with the paper shear and 
scan the lot. If you want color find one with the larger canon color 
copier with the scanner option. Used both of these to scan about 3 
truckloads of paper direct to PDF files. The only problem is they will 
not be text searchable unless you also request OCR within the scan job. 
That pushes the file size up and it's not 100%, but it is searchable.
