*                    Back when I was rebuilding my Paragon which was also a
project radio, I remember reading about the RF Attenuator automatically
being switched on when AM Receive is selected. The logic behind this was
the fact that Megawatt AM Broadcast Stations had the ability to Swamp the
Receiver and that for better AM Reception this had been a part of the
Paragon Design. Somewhere I do remember a Mod that corrected this,if wanted
or needed. I sure wish that my Rememberer worked as good as my Forgetter!
But,do believe that you may want to look into this. Just hope that this
will lead you in a direction that may explain or correct your problem. *
