Yes, the chip computes the difference between the real and displayed
frequency and displays an offset amount to correct for any band crystal
errors. If you want the frequency to display correctly, you must use
the chip.

are using my N4PY Omni V.9 chip, there's a way to calibrate each band from the
front panel without even removing the covers.
