Regarding Rob's demo on noise pulses integrating with the AGC, based on
Rob's findings, I seem to recall that Tentec did release firmware of recent
that effectively changes the AGC time constants or the location of the NR/NB
functions thus they are in a different place within the firmware routine,
thus the aforementioned effect is minimized.
For the Omni VII, the Eagle and the Argonaut VI, if you don't have the
latest release or have not updated your radio, I suggest doing so.

Well I do have a neighbor that uses electric fence's to section off his
pasture. The Omni VII does take out most of the noise pulses most of the
time. Of course 160M is worst case and when he has the grazing part near
my QTH. The cows mooing after the new calves is also quite bothersome.
I've not found any NR system that takes that out.

As a person with an Omni VII and an electric fencer, I have not had the
problem with my Omni VII that Rob demonstrates.
Not that I dissagree with him, I just have not had that problem with
mine.
Also, the noise blankers on my Omni C, Corsair II and Omni VI+ take out
the fence noise better than the Omni VII.
Just my take.
