That tool you mentioned was used for cleaning volume controls not for 
switches.  I had one in my service kitback when I serviced tvs.

There was a tool available to force cleaner into the switches around the 
shaft. Take off the knob, screw it on and force the fluid in, Looked 
like a medical syringe
Years ago TECTRONIX had a note about what they did when  getting stuff 
in for repair.

Is the CORSAIR a junker? Just curious. I have a reclaimed CORSAIR 1. bad 
solder job in the PTO and display. Every
adjustment in that radio was messed up.
