It would work quite well as a receive antenna. And yes, magnetic loops are well known to have quite narrow bandwidth, which would allow nulling interference along one axis. N6RK uses a magnetic RX loop to null his own transmit antenna so that he can run SO2R during 160M contests. He puts one station on 1801 running (calling CQ) and the other station up the band in S&P mode (responding to stations calling CQ).

A well constructed magnetic loop works very well. Not easy to do.
