The problem is exactly as you state, Jim...you DON'T see it. The female pins 
get permanently spread over time, exacerbated by exactly the heavy copper wire 
supply line you recommend. When they were NEW, they were fine. They MAY still 
be. How many can be sub- optimal before the rest are NOT within limit? Anyone 
here ever read a list post where the voltage drop in this type terminal was 
causing issues? Why chance it?    Again, my experience, and 2 cents worth.
