I might suggest that a better motor lubricant would be sewing machine oil. It is non-detergent so will not leach stuff out of the bronze bearing sleeves. Application would be essentially the same, remove the cover label, run the fan until it gets to, drip a small amount into the bearing, run it just a bit more, then let it cool to draw the oil in. Wipe the area clean with alcohol on a rag and put the label back (or some other protective adhesive to keep dirt out if your label is trashed).
