[TenTec] N1MM use?

Has anyone used N1MM with their Paragon or Omni V, VI, or VI+?

I  have tried it on my Paragon II, but I get a cyclical noise over the
audio (not present when I transmit) using RS232 from my laptop to the radio.

Currently using as a Icom 735 in the N1MM setup (as suggested from the
Operator's Manual).  I did try using it as a Omin 6, which did not change
anything.

Just wondering if others have had this problem.  Not a show stopper, but
annoying.
