I would check the mike connector wiring and compare that with the mike 
you may be using.   Usually the Yaesu and Kenwood mikes, wired 
correctly, will work.  The ICOM mikes, doubtful.   Any dynamic low Z 
mike will work with the Argonaut VI, as long as it is wired correctly.   
Mike connector information is in the manual.
