On the 525 (D), the Xtal switch only controls the accessory filter on the IF/AF 
board.The 220 (2.4) filter (if installed on the RF board) is inline all the 
time.The Xtal switch would be switching the 217 (500) in and out.Its possible 
you have bad connections on the IF/AF board or a bad crystal on the filter.
