Not to mention that they are EMP-proof, help keep the shack warm,  have a nice cheery glow, and the aroma of warm vacuum tube electronics is indescribable!

I have a cat who loved to curl up on my HW-100.  I bought her a heated cat bed so she wouldn't fill the rig with fur.

Jim, I still remember the delightful article you wrote for QST when you organized the first Classic Exchange.

That's why it's important to have at least one truly vintage rig in the
shack, like my Heath HW-100.  I can still get tubes, generic
transistors, resistors and capacitors.

Me too.  I collect and use a lot of "vintage" gear.  My Ten Tecs are an Argonaut 505 and a Triton IV, both fortunately still working.  But I have even older gear that is still working and serviceable, like my Drake 4-line, Central Electronics 100V, Collins KWM-1, 75A3 and 75A4, B&W 6100, and HRO-50 and yet older gear going back to an SW-3, HRO and NTX-30 from the 1930s. They were built before throw-away culture became the rule.
