DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO; 9Q1EK by VE2EK, will once again be active as 9Q1EK from Kinshasa very soon. He will be the ONLY radio amateur station left in the DRC with a VALID LICENSE. According to George's BLOG <http://ve2ek.blogspot.com> (edited): "Soon... ! After several months of standby, I will be again on air. Due to a QSY of my QRA (in flat now..!!!). I'm going to install very soon my station on my prof. radio broadcast site. The available hours will be reduced. Station will be FT2000 with a OM2500HF. Dipoles for 160, 80, 40 + Delta loop + beam on 45m tower. Major activity will be on CW." Georges states that he has a second project (which will be later) on EME (144 MHz with 4 x 16 elements + 8877 and 432 MHz with 4 x 21 element + 8938). QSL direct via SM5DJZ. The next FIFA Soccer World Cup will take place in South Africa in 2010. Operations through May 31st will be only on the air over weekends. However, operations between June 1st and July 12th, will be on the air 7 days a week. Frequency band selections and times will be dependent on propagation conditions. Preferred fre- quencies are:

Their goal is to make contacts on as many different frequencies as possible, even on the 80 meter and 160 meter bands which makes this DXpedition very special. Announced this past week, the team will also be on the satellites. The crew will use a FT-897 TRX with homebrewed "Easysat" - antenna for 2m and 70cm and a home-brewed 10m cross-dipole. The following satellite will be used: AO-07*,  AO-51*, HO-68*, SO-50 and SO-67 (*first priority - not all overflights and sats will be used). July RUSSIA; WRTC 2010
WRTC Championship Competition is being held in Moscow, Russia, this coming July 2010. This time, teams will be set up in tents with generators supplying the power. Special new rules will allow both operators to make contacts in a modified form of SO2R with interlocked radios - meaning only one signal at a time is permitted on the air.

from Raoul Island by the core team of the very successful DXpeditions to Norfolk Island in 2007 (VK9DNX) and Willis Island in 2008 (VK9DWX), plus a few high experienced operators, will be active in November. According to the preliminary schedule, thirteen  operators, DJ5IW, DJ7EO, DJ9RR, DK1II, DL1MGB, DL3DXX, DL5CW, DL5LYM, DL5XL, DL6FBL, DL8OH, DL8WPX and SP5XVY expect to be QRV with seven high power stations on 160-10 metres CW, SSB and RTTY. from Pagasa Island. By VK3FY, was in the planning stages of a DXpedition to Spratly Islands to take place sometime in January 2011. It was reported this past week that permission from the Philippines has been granted for three weeks in January of 2011.
