Dear fellow Scandinavians,

Welcome to SAC 2016! The Arctic region is leaving summer behind, while embracing the autumn and its traditional Scandinavian Activity Contest. The contest committee is pleased to invite you to take part as follows:

CW: 17 - 18 September, 12:00 UTC - 11:59 UTC
SSB: 8 - 9 October, 12:00 UTC - 11:59 UTC

Be sure to reserve these weekends for the annual "Polar Battle." Promotional efforts are under way, and we are hoping to see lively bands with a minimum amount of aurora and polar flutter! The rules of the contest are available in English at http://www.sactest.net/blog/rules/. Please take a look and choose a suitable entry category.

=====================
* Announce your activity *
=====================

Challenge your neighbors and local club members by announcing your battle plans on the web:

http://www.sactest.net/blog/announce_form/

More Scandinavian signals on the bands translate to more non-Scandinavian stations keeping their radios on. Those who have already signed up can be seen at

CW: http://www.sactest.net/blog/announcements.php?mode=CW
SSB: http://www.sactest.net/blog/announcements.php?mode=SSB

==================
* Sponsored plaques *
==================

Thanks to the generous contributions of many individuals, there are several Sponsored Plaques available also for Scandinavian operators to pursue. Please take a look at http://www.sactest.net/blog/rules/sac-sponsored-plaque-program/ and pick your target.

================
* Frequency limits *
================

In addition to the 80m limits in the rules, please do your best to observe the IARU Region 1 band plan on the other bands. In compliance with the policies of IARU R1, the plan will be implemented in next year's SAC rules. That makes this year a good time to practice!

================
* Spread the word *
================

The website http://www.sactest.net functions as the SAC information hub. SAC also has a social media presence, and you can "like" the Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/ScandinavianActivityContest.

Please invite your ham friends -- within Scandinavia and beyond -- to visit these sites and to participate in this autumn's contest.
